Week commencing Monday, 17th January 2011
Its my mum’s birthday on Tuesday, so I thought this week I would share some gifts that I know she would like…
Saturday: The final idea for the week is a biggie – its one I might keep up my sleve for a milestone birthday (I wont mention what that is for mum!) and get all the family to contribute to…
I first heard of Maria Island a couple of years ago when I was planning a trip to Tassie. The Island, which is entirely National Park, is off Tasmania’s East Coast. It looks gorgerous, and while we didn’t end up including it in our first trip, it is definately on my list for next time we return to Tassie.
Mum has been to Tassie before, but not to Maria Island and she loves to bush walk – so a Maria Island 4 day walk is a gift that I know she would love!
Here are two options I found:
- “The Maria Island Walk”: walk, which sounds a bit gourmet – with a candlelight dinner of fresh local produce and Tasmanian wines each evening – my kind of camping! You can find all the details here
- Adventure Seekers Maria Island guided walk commences with a scenic flight around the Tasman Peninsula and Wineglass Bay before landing on the Island to commence your 4 day guided tour. Further details are here
Friday: Mum and I did Paris together and loved it – I think she will like this clock.
Thursday: how gorgegous are these!
Swallows are a symbol of hope, wealth and freedom. These swallows are captured on recycled vintage china.
Chrysalis are inspired by the beautiful life cycle of a butterfly and the process of metamoprhosis. Inspired to reflect the cycle of life, these are also made using recycled sauces – so no two are the same!
Wednesday: keeping with the bird theme I really like this beautiful eva solo bird feeder feeder ball is made from mounth-blown glass and designed to withstand wind, weather and beating wings!
Tuesday: My mum loves birds so when I saw Andrew Zuckerman’s book Bird I knew she would think its fabulous! You can also get a 2011 calendar. Here are just some of the images
Monday: mum saw my boxing gloves and focus mitts the other day and requested her own for her birthday. I think this pair looks cute!
