Week commencing Monday, 9th May 2011
I’ve just discovered a new Australian site – Young Republic. Young Republic is currently in Beta and describes its self as Australia’s first interactive marketplace for fashion, jewellery, homewares, art & lifestyle products from home-grown upcoming and independent designers. Its vision to create a safe and secure online marketplace for stylish, sophisticated and eco-conscious shoppers.
You can vote for Young Republic in Antill’s SMART 100 here
I thought I would source this week’s gift ideas from the Aussie designers on this new site…
Weekend: I could resist finishing up the week with some cute kids outfits from Miff Designs

Friday: Looking for crisp and contemporary cards from an Aussie designer? Check out Elbie Sparks
Thursday: Maya Muse textiles design and make beautiful, thoughtful products which celebrate the joy of the handmade. The range includes cushions, tea towels, aprons, eco bags and fabric bundles. All products are made the old fashioned way, screen printed by hand, using hand mixed inks.
Wednesday: Check out TopazTurtle’s (love the name!) gorgeous resin bangles, rings, necklaces, lockets, brooches and earrings.
Tuesday: KnitKnit creates learn-to-knit kits for creative people who love the thought of knitting something unique. They are designed especially for first time knitters. Each kit contains all the ingredients to enable you to make your own one of a kind, hand knitted piece.
Monday: Snowfawn offers whimsy homewares that will look amazing in a eclectic environment. Here are two cuties…Tea for two coasters and Sunshine yellow cuckoo clock.
